Time at last to enjoy the summer...

Soon to be wine!
No sooner has one event fnished at Mowbarton than another one begins! It feels as though I had just described testing the grapes for their sugar content and warning our friends and family it would sooon be time for harvest, when all the grapes had gone to the wine-maker in Bagborough. Then before we knew it the autumn leaves had all been tidied away to the bonfire and the vines were being pruned. Don't they look sad now? Shorn of all their beauty and promise.
Or not quite...
It won't be long before the sun returns (fingers crossed but it's foggy today) and the new shoots will start to appear on those gnarled-looking vines. And then it will be time yet again to make plans for the harvest.
The days fly by in the Barn and Shepherd's Hut too. Guests return for yet another stay before they've had time to say 'goodbye.' This week's guests will have stayed at Mowbarton a magnificent twelve times.
Welcome back!
