wells festivals

What an amazing day it's been today. Glorious sunshine and a clear blue sky. T-shirt weather despite the fact that the leaves are all turning and autumn is well and truly here. It was the Wells Food Festival today - a wonderful celebration of local produce in a beautiful location around the Bishop's Palace moat and in the market square. It inspired me to make the best of our own garden-grown produce. You don't get much more local than that! We have had so many pears and apples this year, plus grapes (in addition to the vineyard ones), blackberries, late raspberries. And it's been a wonderful year for butterflies and roses, but I'm not sure I ever wish to see another courgette!

Talking of Festivals in Wells, I have decided to offer an unbeatable deal during the week of the Wells Festival of Literature: 13 October to 20 October. It's our last full free week in October so it may as well go to a good cause! To be honest, you can enjoy the discount at Mowbarton Barn even if you don't go to the Festival. That said, there are some brilliant speakers again this year so a visit to any of the events during the Festival would make your stay at the Barn even better than normal.

Festival Offer: A mere £550 for a whole glorious week!
