Mowbarton covers 12 acres of beautiful Somerset countryside overlooking the Vale of Avalon. It is best known locally as home to Mowbarton Estate Somerset Sparkling Wine and to our still Somerset Cuvee Pinot. For those from further afield we also provide a choice of luxury self-catering accommodation: for large groups there's our stunning converted Barn and for more intimate twosomes we offer Mowbarton Shepherd’s Hut.
Mowbarton is surrounded by green fields and pasture, yet is easily accessible with plenty of attractions nearby and only 20 minutes from the M5. ‘Miles from nowhere, yet close to everywhere’, Mowbarton is the perfect place for holidays, anniversaries, mini-breaks, get-togethers and celebrations of all kinds. With the Mowbarton vineyard right on the doorstep, there are even bottles on hand for the occasion itself. Our sparkling wine has been chosen to feature at all sorts of notable events over the past few years: significant birthdays, engagements, weddings, anniversaries, family reunions, street parties and Festivals.
And after that hot summer we have all recently enjoyed we are delighted to report the 2025 harvest has now been safely gathered in (with a huge thank you to all our hard-working harvesters - friends and family alike.) We are all looking forward to our first sip ... and the second... and third...!
Mowbarton Estate offers two superb Somerset wines, both made entirely from grapes grown in our vineyard with its spectacular views of Glastonbury Tor. Mowbarton Estate Cuvee Pinot is made predominantly from Pinot Blanc grapes, harvested after the record-breaking summer of 2022, when temperatures in our vineyard reached 33 Centigrade.
Mowbarton Barn offers the ideal self-catering choice for large groups in the beautiful Somerset countryside. Plenty of room to get together - or to keep your own space...
Mowbarton Shepherd's Hut offers cunningly compact self-catering accommodation for two in a lovely secluded rural setting. Some guests use it as a fifth bedroom to the Barn plus of course it's a perfect choice for romantic couples - of any age!
